How to set templates on Obsidian

What is Template in Obsidian

Templates is a core plugin that lets you insert pre-defined snippets of text into your active note.

What does a Template look like in MarkDown?

Set your template folder 

  1. In the bottom-left corner, click Settings.
  2. Under Core plugins → Templates → Template folder location, enter the folder containing your templates.

Set a hotkey for inserting template

  1. Still, in the bottom-left corner, click Settings.
  2. Under Hotkeys, search for templates.
  3. Find Templates: Insert template. I set it to ctrl + T as a keyboard short cut.
